DocuWare GmbH https://start.docuware.com a document management solution, secure archiving of documents can be ensured for any period of time. Has the demand for digital solutions changed in recent years? For years, we have seen an ever-increasing demand for digital solutions, especially cloud solutions . Whether small family businesses or large international corporations – most companies had to invest in new tools at the beginning of the pandemic to enable their employees to work from home. Getting started with digitization is so simple in this day and age. Many companies choose our cloud solution because it only takes about 3 or 4 days to implement – with no downtime for the company or even an IT department being involved. Which departments are particularly well-suited for getting started? Departments with many documents, such as accounting departments , are perfect – employees experience the benefits of the DMS as soon as the first invoice is received. The process is simple: An invoice usually arrives in a digital form or scanned at the company. Then the solution’s “Intelligent Indexing” tool automatically recognizes key information contained in these A/P invoices – such as supplier name, invoice record numbers or amounts – and converts them as index terms, which is basically a wealth of well-organized, easily useable and searchable data. With the help of machine learning, incoming invoices can be processed quickly and effortlessly. This saves employees from tedious manual data and lets them focus their time and energy on more important tasks. HR departments are also a great place to start digitizing. Everything revolves around a company’s most essential resource – its employees. HR departments handle both routine administrative work such as payroll as well as strategic tasks such as personnel development, training and recruiting. Employment contracts, certificates, sick leaves, vacation requests etc. are sensitive and confidential records, so they must always be handled and archived with care. These are all standard business processes that offer tremendous potential for digitization and automation. How do you think digitization will develop in the coming months? Implementation will continue to become easier and easier. Providers of ECM solutions in the cloud already handle all aspects of implementation, system updates and security patches. This makes it especially easy for companies to scale solutions according to their needs and avoid having to invest in additional internal IT resources. We expect the demand for technologies that digitize and automate processes to continue in 2023 – and look forward to helping even more companies reach their full potential. Thank you very much for the good conver- sation. The conversation was conducted by Dr. Rudolf Müller, Editorial Office Unternehmen&Trends The association “autoregion” was founded in 2015 with the goal of creating a complementary and cross-border offer to the regional automotive associations and is now the largest cross-border network of the automotive supplier industry and partner of the VDA (Association of the Automotive Industry) and CLEPA (The European Association of Automotive suppliers). Based in the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Saarland, it represents the entrepreneurial interests of the automotive industry and bundles the forces of the Greater Region (SaarLorLux) with more than 300 companies and over 220,000 employees from the automotive supply industry. (For more information visit: www.autoregion.eu ) Meanwhile the association has gained around 200 direct network partners and members in Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lorraine and Luxembourg. As a result, autoregion e. V. covers the automotive industry as well as the related areas of IT and logistics in the core region of Europe. This gives autoregion a strong and competent voice over politics and the public. The association has been a consultant to the Saarland Ministry of Economic Affairs since its inception. For the purposes of networking, exchange and representation of interests, the autoregion e. V. has so far organized around 160 events with more than 9.000 participants – many of the events in cooperation with the IHK Saarland. Formats include specialist symposia, major thematic events, including the series “Mobility of the future - what will move us in the coming years”, as well as seminars, working groups and company visits. One of the biggest successes of the association is the co-initiation of the country’s hydrogen strategy. Another goal of this first cross-border association is to expand and accelerate the cluster work of regional clusters in the automotive supply industry beyond the borders. Especially in France and Luxembourg as well as in the neighboring Rhineland-Palatinate the work will come to fruition. Work is being developed and expanded in the areas of skilled worker acquisition and securing, network maintenance, the establishment of new contacts, technology transfer between universities and companies, and targeted location marketing for the industry. Through the structure of the association, the members have a decisive influence on the work of the cluster and can also query more performance. The trend for companies to join forces across companies in an industry and along the value chain in order to realize a joint project and thus also to acquire orders, takes this network into account. Regions in which clusters are located can better assert themselves in international location competition and profit from the closer ties between the companies in the region and their prosperity. Many clusters, especially in places with high entrepreneurial dynamics and scientific excellence, have developed without state influence. Cooperation in networks have considerable advantages. Clusters provide for dialogue between different entrepreneurs, research, administration and politics, helping to translate research results into new products and processes faster, thereby strengthening the region.
