docked onto any CNC machine using a lift- ing truck. Reference bores in the hall floor in front of the respective machines ensure that the loading cell is always docked at the exact same position. This simple solution guarantees the plug & play operation on any machine tool without repeated mea- surement. Despite its starting price of less than 100,000 euros, the loading cell goes straight to the starting line with high quality design. The latter features a generously dimen- sioned stainless steel loading plate and an area scanner that eliminates the need for a protective fence. The sys- tem also includes modern, operator-friendly system visu- alization based on YASKAWA’s lat- est robot controller YRC1000. “After a short instruction time, the loading cell can also be operated by personnel without an expert knowledge of robots, simply via touchscreen. This likewise applies to learning new parts, by which the operator is guided step-by- step through a self-explanatory menu. If the machine tool has a bus system, the latter’s parameters can be displayed in the visualiza- tion. Today, system operation could hardly be easier,” Füller promises. A further major advantage of the cell: it manages with a minimum footprint. With its dimensions of 1600 x 1500 x 2400 mm a suitable location can always be found even where space is at a premium. Although the mobile cell was conceived as a standard sys- tem, at the request of a customer RILE will also perform modifications to the concept, e.g. by integrating downstream processes such as marking, deburring and similar. The two new YASKAWA GP12 and GP25 robots with payloads of 12 and 25 kg and ranges of 1440 mm and 1730 mm are thus the ideal six-axis robots for the assumption of addi- tional tasks. When it comes to economic viability, RILE promises the shortest amortization peri- ods, depending on the scope of tasks, of significantly less than one year. Taking into consideration the required quality, this is a manageable investment sum, and the poten- tial for improvement in terms of autonomous operation of the machine tools is consid- erable. This makes the mobile loading cell equally interesting for a one-man operation as for a global player. In the interests of easy integration of the cell at the user’s premises, the vendor clarifies the mechanical and elec- trical interface issues already in the bidding phase and provides the required CE marking. Then there is nothing more to prevent a fast start-up. ■ RILE Group, Deggendorf www.rile-group.com YASKAWA Europe GmbH www.yaskawa.eu.com Webssites Unternehmen & Trends 75 Jürgen Riedinger Senior Sales Manager GI Robots & Products Digital BusinessCard With their slim design, the new YASKAWA robots are predestined for use under limited space conditions, e.g. loading and unloading of machine tools. After a short instruction time the loading cell can also be operated by personnel without expert knowledge of robots, simply by touch- screen.
