102 The infrastructure of the software comprises different apps that reduce the complexity in using simulation. Individual tools can be used independently from each other or in combination. VIRTO can therefore be geared towards any particular need. Test engineers are not necessarily experts in generating release documentation based on simulation data, and software developers are not always specialists in the vast field of simulation possibilities. With easy access and intuitive use, VIRTO enables everyone involved in the development of a vehicle to leverage virtual vehicle development. A variety of automation functions greatly simplifies and speeds up work processes; configurable dashboards provide a wellstructured overview of information for e.g. reporting. VIRTO is therefore a suitable information platform across all levels of hierarchy. More specifically, VIRTO simplifies the management of parameter data, vehicle software, test results and vehicle models in three areas. Usually, in the build process, virtual vehicle fleets are generated to test them in test drives. The challenge: Integrating vehicle data and parameters as well as simulation models and software at the right time and in a safe as well as reliable way. VIRTO already offers support during the assembly of the virtual vehicle to check and evaluate basic functions. The second area covers the actual simulation with defined components in selected scenarios. Tests can either be performed at chosen points in time locally or in the cloud. Finally, the main task of VIRTO is to automate the individual steps in the process chain. In this way, the full vehicle simulation can be integrated seamlessly into suitable CI and CT processes. Additionally, VIRTO supports the approach of purpose-driven fidelity, which describes the targeted creation of simulation models. All models are tailored to the according use case and generated from the same, centrally managed and consistent data. The app suite provides an overview of the entire simulation model range and allows the quick performance of a large variety of highly automated tests. This results in many more relevant test miles as compared to real-world test driving. New concepts are thus easy and quick to implement, test and roll out. A short overview of the apps: VIRTO.DATA manages all parameter data required to build a virtual vehicle. VIRTO.MODEL manages the ECU software and simulation models centrally. VIRTO.BUILD simplifies the fully automated build of virtual vehicles and reduces the effort involved in building vehicle models. VIRTO.FLEET manages all configurations of virtual vehicle derivatives. In addition to the virtual fleet, an extensive virtual data base with different vehicle models is available. VIRTO.SCENE is a version-controlled scenario database that manages and stores test scenarios including all their features. VIRTO.TEST manages and performs virtual test campaigns. VIRTO.RESULT stores and manages test results and how they were created.
