Door opener as an optional feature Brose is also working on a door check concept. The new product opens the side door wide enough for vehicle users to conveniently grasp the frame and open it completely. This makes handle-free vehicle door designs feasible without the need for a fully equipped side door drive with collision protection. The door check holds the door when it opens so it cannot swing open on slopes, for instance. This also enables the door to move back into the catch and close again completely with the help of the soft- close feature. Its high strength also enables the door check to break open a door that has been frozen shut. The drive has a particu- larly small form factor, allowing for simple integration in the door at the ideal point of impact. Moreover, this makes it easy to offer this feature as an option.
