Thomas can remain in family hands. From Janu- ary 2018, the Management Board will consist of three members. Markus Krauss and Christoph Thomas will be joined by Jürgen Heck (current- ly Head of the Engine Management and Chassis unit, Thomas’s largest business unit in terms of revenue and personnel), who will be respon- sible for the company’s technology-oriented business units. As a telecommunications engi- neer and long-standing CTO at a supplier of in- novative electronic modules to the automotive industry, he will contribute his vital expertise to the company’s strategic realignment based on the “Sense – Think – Act” principle. Dietrich Thomas will stay on for a time in the role of coach to ensure a smooth transition and then serve as chair of the Advisory Board from 2019.
