45 Up to date, customised and flexible However, some small adaptations were still necessary. “We need our administration sys- tem to be personalised to some extent, which for us traditionally means an order preview in which every order is automatically entered,” says Taube. All data relevant to the order is then shown in the order preview. What is the anticipated delivery date for the chassis, who constructed the vehicle, is the design finalised, and when is production expected to begin? Is production planning complete? “This view of the order is one that we incor- porated into the new system subsequently,” explains Taube. Aside from the mobile solution from its IT partner, RKB is also in the process of incor- porating the modules cc|auftragsfertigung, cc|bde, cc|workflow and cc|project, the doc- ument management pack with the cc|docu- ment configurator, cc|formatted documents and cc|textmodul. “Having fully mapped our business processes with the extensive range of standard features and fully integrated the Cosmo Consult products into the ERP system, our IT is right up to date. There’s no room for errors any more,” says a confident Taube. In the new BDE module, for example, employ- ees can only end a process that they also ini- tiated. Confusion and omissions, once com- monplace, are now a thing of the past. The software also records material consumption notifications in the warehouse via mobile data recording devices. Tested and ready to use Complete assemblies can be individual- ly amended in cc|auftragsfertigung while the structure of existing assemblies can be revised without the need to create a new arti- cle. It is also possible to configure or amend the design of a proposal or other document with no programming knowledge, using modules in the document management pack (such as the report configurator). Amongst other things, cc|workflow notifies responsi- ble employees after a chassis delivery, which in turn signals the start of production for an order. In a self-defined table, RKB adminis- ters the chassis via the vehicle ID number and other parameters such as supplier, delivery date and order number. The software auto- matically informs all relevant employees when the table is complete so production can com- mence. Testing showed that even the standard version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 offers users a wealth of new functions that enables the software to run like an individually customised ERP program with the additional certified solu- tions. The visually and functionally outstanding design of the interface, which facilitates virtu- ally intuitive operation of the system, gave the first-time users in Döbeln the impression of testing future-proof software that was also a safe investment based on ultra-modern tech- nology. “Having had positive experiences with Dynamics NAV 2016 and our partner Cosmo Consult, we now plan to integrate additional industry solutions,” announces Taube, thinking of cc|cad in particular. This will mean bills of material and associated articles can be direct- ly imported into the ERP system from almost any established CAD or PDM system via a web service or text interface. ■ By Volker Vorburg COSMO CONSULT www.cosmoconsult.com Webseite Katja Damm Head of Marketing Digitale BusinessCard COSMO CONSULT info@cosmoconsult.com eMail
