3 From September 7 to 12, the new IAA MOBILITY in Munich will provide innovative and inspiring impetus for the future of mo- bility. The understanding of and demand for mobility are undergoing an exciting upheav- al. Numerous new offerings, players and technologies are expanding the mobility mix. The IAA MOBILITY 2021 is the new home of a more sustainable and multimodal mobili- ty. It stands for a modern and user-oriented mobility awareness. It will be about the lat- est developments in automobiles, batteries, gasoline and hydrogen, ride sharing, cycling and public transport, software, apps and au- tonomous driving. In contrast to the previous IAA, this year we are taking parts of the event out of the exhibition halls and transforming the IAA into a festival of mobility. The new concept is geared to the needs of road users and consumers and offers numerous opportu- nities for both B2B and B2C to experience the transformation of mobility live in all its diversity. In the heart of Munich, IAA Mobility visitors will experience state-of-the-art drives, smart mobility & smart city concepts in the Open Space. Until now, future mobility such as autonomous and connected driving could mostly only be marveled at by the expert audience as abstract presentations at trade fair booths. IAA MOBILITY is opening up to the general public, offering unprecedented access to sustainable and smart mobility solutions that will change all our lives. Another highlight of our new concept is the so-called Blue Lane. With the Blue Lane Road, we offer Germany’s first environmen- tal lane for electric, hybrid and hydrogen vehicles as well as zero-emission local bus transportation. Over a distance of twelve kilometers, visitors can also try out sustain- able forms of mobility in everyday road traf- fic. The pilot project can also be used by any vehicle that has a sustainable drive system or is occupied by at least 3 people. To ensure that the progress of mobility con- tinues to evolve, IAA MOBILITY offers nu- merous B2B networking formats in the Mu- nich exhibition halls. At the Summit, national and international manufacturers, suppliers as well as disruptive tech companies and emerging startups will present themselves. Also taking place in the Munich exhibition halls is the English-language IAA Confer- ence. More than 500 top-class CEOs, vi- sionaries and inspiring personalities from society, science, politics as well as from the automotive industry and tech scene VDA President Hildegard Müller will share their ideas and concepts on the future of mobility.
