Due to the high degree of integration of this key industry and the considerable re- gional economic effects that this sector has, the further recovery process in the Greater Region is likely to be slow, especially for Luxembourg (minus 12 percent) and France (minus 11 percent) Economic output is fore- cast – regardless of the support of the French automotive industry in the amount of eight billion euros. Loss of prosperity is therefore inevitable, and unemployment is already sig- nificantly higher than in the previous year in all sub-regions. What follows from all of this? The corona crisis is both a burden and an opportunity – both economically and socially. It will accelerate structural change in the Greater Region and the digital transformation, turn the world of work inside out and lead many of us to read- just the value system. In short: it becomes a driver of change in an unprecedented dynamic, depth and breadth. Many companies will have to reinvent themselves completely. In this situation, strong networks offer a lot of added value – even across national borders.
